The American Senate has filed a request in front of the highest investigative institution in America, the FBI, to investigate suspects related to FaceApp following reports that the biometric information collected from this app is being used for fraudulent reasons.
This app, which became popular worldwide in the blink of an eye, captures a photo of the user and gives a visual image of how he or she will look when they get old.
It was the American Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer that brought this request forward. He argued that the information collected by this app could be a threat both on a personal level and for national security matters.
Preliminary investigations into the FaceApp case established Russian origins to the app and that was created by Wireless Lab but no concrete evidence is pointing fingers to the Russian Government.
Could it be that a peak into your future has cost you your digital security?
